Art Club – Ben Koss

Purpose: The art club was established at Empire High School as a way for students to discover and explore art, to cultivate their artistic skills, and to create a sense of community around artistic experiences. The art club provides these experiences through weekly meetings, field trips, art workshops, art shows, community projects, and art trips. Come see Mr. Koss today if you are interested!

Choir Club – Aubry Wilkes

Purpose: To provide an exciting opportunity for EHS students to share their singing talents and learn about the various components of singing in a choir. This club helps the students learn the aspects of music such as pitch, tone, melody and lyrics.

Purpose: Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, Link Crew trains members of the Junior and Senior class to be Link Leaders. As positive role models, Link Leaders are motivators, leaders and mentors who guide the Freshman to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school and work with them throughout their Freshman school year.

National Honor Society (NHS) – Shannon Woolridge

Purpose: To create an enthusiasm for scholarship, demonstrate service through completion of service events which better the community and school, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of Empire High School.

Raven Robotics – Jeff Ofstedahl

Purpose: Raven Robotics competes in VEX Robotics Competitions and assists Science Club in the Science Olympiad Competitions.  We learn how to design and build efficient robotic systems, and how to program them to complete a task given design specifications.  No prior experience is necessary, and skills of all types and levels are accepted!

Science Club – Dr. Frank

Purpose:  The purpose of the Empire Science Club is to promote an interest in and enthusiasm for science and technology. It provides an environment where students may explore science topics well beyond what is taught in class. This will be accomplished through such activities as field trips, invited speakers, science fair project support, and especially participation in organized science contests such as the Science Olympiad. Interested students can join our Schoology group with access code 43BTV-84QWW.  We also supply support for students who want help with science classes and provide an additional opportunity for students who want to carry out long-term research projects.  All interested students are welcome!

Skills USA – Rich Booth and Shaun Roby

Purpose:  SkillsUSA is a national club for career and technical education that includes more than 350,000 students across the nation.  At Empire, we have several clubs incorporated inside our SkillsUSA club. These include photography, video production, and yearbook.  We like to meet all together as a social club once a week, but also have opportunities for those students who are passionate about these subjects, and want to compete against students from our region, our state, and even nationally.  Students can choose if they want to just socialize in the club and meet other creative individuals, or they can work towards preparing for competitions by participating in challenges and skill-building activities.

SWAT (Student Wellness Advocacy Team) – Tim Batten

Purpose: The Student Wellness Advocacy Team (SWAT) at Empire High school is focused on redefining the lifestyles of the people within our community and school by improving the policies that our campus and community have involving tobacco and drug use, physical activity, and nutrition. We want to use policy improvement, education, and youth leadership as vehicles to improve a healthy lifestyle throughout the community and in our school. ~SWAT

Purpose: A collective group of actors and theatre technicians, meeting to play theatre games, collaborate creatively, build our theatre family, and enjoy all things theatre. Meets: Officers meet Tuesdays at lunch. All students meet Fridays at lunch. There will also be additional events that will meet after school. Announcements will be made when those occur. Drama Club is open to all students.
